HBO Will Honor James Gandolfini With Tribute Dec 22

When James Gandolfini’s picture flashes on the screen during the “In Memorium” tribute at the Academy Awards ceremony on March 2, 2014, it will be a sad and emotional moment for the audience and the viewers. The actor was only 51, and his death on June 19 was so sudden and unexpected.

HBO will honor the “Sopranos” star with a tribute on Sunday, December 22 at 8:30, with the special program, “James Gandolfini: Tribute  to a Friend.” More than two dozen friends and colleagues will reminisce about the Emmy winner. Along with first-person reflections, there will be clips of Gandolfini’s work, as well as behind-the-scenes footage.

The late actor’s performance in Nicole Holofcener’s “Enough Said,” starring Julia Louis-Dreyfus, has earned him Golden Globe, Screen Actors Guild and Independent Spirit Award nominations for Best Supporting Actor.
