Despicable Me 2: Pharrell Williams' "Happy" Video

Despicable Me 2” is one of the cutest movies I’ve seen this year. The minions are adorable, as are the girls. The whole thing just makes me happy. Stand by for a glowing review.

Also making me happy is Pharrell Williams’ song “Happy,” which plays during one scene when Gru realizes he’s in love. I have to admit, I’d heard Williams’ name over the years, but couldn’t pick out a song of his if you paid me.

Well, those days are over, because I’ll be checking out his other songs after seeing “Despicable Me 2,” in which he’s featured on several tunes, including “Happy,” “Scream” (performed by CeeLo Green), “Just a Cloud Away,” and “Fun Fun Fun.”

Here’s the lyric video for “Happy,” featuring the minions. See if it doesn’t make you feel happy. Clap along if you want. Go ahead.

Visit Pharrell Williams’ website, follow him on Twitter, FacebookYouTube and Instagram.

  1. […] The plot is simple and sweet, which is good because it lets the characters shine through. The movie also has a wonderful soundtrack that reminds me of “The Incredibles” spy-music soundtrack, and includes some really fun tunes by Pharrell Williams, including the upbeat “Happy.” Check out the lyric video over here.
