Send to Kindle“The Place Beyond the Pines” opens in U.K. theaters on April 12, 2013, shortly after its March 29 release in the U.S.
It’s always interesting to me when they produce different posters and promos for movies in various countries. In one way, it’s cool because we get to see more ideas for the films. In another way, it kind of messes with the branding of a film.
But I really love this U.K. poster for “The Place Beyond the Pines,” because it has the same Edward Hopper feel as the U.S. poster, only more blue. The poster shows circus performer Luke (Ryan Gosling) motoring his motorcycle into a new town that will change his destiny forever. And, I dunno, possibly make him more blue. Or not.
Bradley Cooper, Rose Byrne, Eva Mendes and Dane DeHaan also star in the drama from “Blue Valentine” director Derek Cianfrance, with an original score by Mike Patton.
