Seth MacFarlane and Emma Stone will announce the Oscar nominations this Thursday. This will be the first time since 1972 that an Oscar host has gotten up this early — 5:30 a.m. West Coast time — to participate in the process. For Oscar trivia fans, Charlton Heston — Ben Hur himself — was the last host to perform these duties.

Stone has had a busy year. She starred in the 2011 best picture nominee The Help and the summer release The Amazing Spider-Man. Upcoming is Gangster Squad on Jan. 11 and The Croods on March 22.

Let’s see what funny business MacFarlane is up to on Thursday when he announces the Oscar nominees. It will give us a taste of what’s in store for Oscar Sunday, Feb. 24.
