The Muppets Get Their Own Cooking Shows!

The Muppets just keep getting better with age, don’t they? They’ve been making a comeback of sorts over the past year, thanks to the wonders of web video. Check out their YouTube version of Bohemian Rhapsody — no wonder it’s scored more than 15 million views and took home two Webby Awards.

Never one to miss a trend, now the Muppets are starring in two online cooking shows, one on Disney.com and one on Disney’s Family.com . Ok, this is pure brilliance. These shows are not only fun for adults (raise your hand if you watched ‘The Muppet Show’ back in the day, even though no kids were in the house), but they show kids that cooking is fun, imaginative, and a great way to express yourself.

The Disney.com show, ‘The Muppets Kitchen with Cat Cora ’ (her name even sounds like a Muppet name), brings the Food Network veteran together with some of your favorite Muppets, including Miss Piggy, Kermit and Fozzie, as well as a new Muppet chef named Angelo. What, no Swedish Chef? Maybe he’ll show up later.

The Family.com show, ‘Hasty Tasty Cooking Tips with Cat Cora & The Muppets‘ is geared more for parents, focusing on practical family recipes and step-by-step cooking instructions.

Watch an episode of ‘Hasty Tasty Cooking’ below, and check out ‘The Muppets Kitchen’ on the Disney website. What do you think? Cool idea? Frankly, I’m surprised that Bert and Ernie don’t have their own reality show yet.

This is so cute! Love the Muppets. I’m the first generation raised on Sesame St and I also watched The Muppet Show every Tuesday night with my dad when my mom worked late. This is something kids and parents could watch together.
